- 2–3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hoagie rolls
- Sliced provolone cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Mix together beef broth, water, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, thyme, and seasoning in a bowl.
- Pour the flavorful mixture over the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for about 480-600 minutes, until the meat can be easily shredded.
- Shred the beef using two forks and return it to the sauce in the crockpot.
- Serve the tender beef in hoagie rolls, adding provolone cheese if you prefer.
