  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hoagie rolls
  • Sliced provolone cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
  2. Mix together beef broth, water, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, thyme, and seasoning in a bowl.
  3. Pour the flavorful mixture over the roast.
  4. Cover and cook on low for about 480-600 minutes, until the meat can be easily shredded.
  5. Shred the beef using two forks and return it to the sauce in the crockpot.
  6. Serve the tender beef in hoagie rolls, adding provolone cheese if you prefer.
