Description
Delicious and easy Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches made with tender shredded beef and rich au jus, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds beef roast (chuck roast works great)
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: sliced jalapenos or your favorite toppings
Instructions
- Place the beef roast in your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over the roast.
- Pour the beef broth around the roast, ensuring it’s well-saturated.
- Season the entire roast with salt and pepper according to taste.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 480 minutes or on high for 240 minutes, until the beef is tender and easily shreddable.
- Once cooked, shred the beef using two forks, mixing it well with the juices.
- Serve the shredded beef generously on hoagie rolls, topping each with a slice of provolone cheese.
- For that authentic touch, strain the cooking liquid into small bowls for au jus dipping.
Notes
For an extra flavor boost, consider browning the roast before slow cooking. Adjust the seasoning to your liking and use homemade broth when possible.
