Description
Tender beef slow-cooked to perfection, served on hoagie rolls with melted provolone cheese and a flavorful broth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Provolone cheese, sliced
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast into the crockpot.
- Layer the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the meat.
- Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce evenly over the ingredients.
- Sprinkle thyme, salt, and pepper atop everything.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shredable.
- Once cooked, pull the beef out of the pot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded beef to the pot, allowing it to soak up all those delicious juices.
- Serve the stacked beef on hoagie rolls, garnished with slices of provolone cheese.
- Don’t forget a small bowl of au jus on the side for dipping!
Notes
You can use brisket instead of chuck roast, or Italian seasoning instead of thyme for variations.
