Description
A flavorful Thai dish featuring marinated beef steak grilled to perfection, offering a burst of savory and spicy flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef steak (flank steak or sirloin)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2–3 Thai bird chilies (adjust to your spice preference)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
- Sliced cucumbers (for serving)
- Sticky rice (to accompany)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, lime juice, minced garlic, and chopped chilies.
- Place your steak in the marinade, ensuring it is well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes—overnight is even better for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat and add vegetable oil to avoid sticking.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and grill it for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Cook longer if needed for your preferred doneness.
- Once done, let the steak rest for a few minutes to retain the juices.
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain and serve on a platter, garnished with fresh cilantro.
Notes
For spicier options, adjust the number of Thai bird chilies used. Serve with cucumber slices and sticky rice for a complete meal.
