Description
A creamy and crunchy green bean casserole that’s perfect for any gathering, from holidays to weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 cup crispy fried onions
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch the green beans in salted boiling water for 4-5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, whole milk, soy sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper until combined.
- Gently fold in the blanched green beans until they’re well coated in the soup mixture.
- Add half of the crispy fried onions and stir gently.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until it’s bubbling and heated through.
- Remove from the oven, top with the remaining crispy fried onions, and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes for that golden crisp.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For the best texture, do not over-blanch the green beans. Can substitute cream of mushroom soup with a homemade version for a gourmet touch.
