- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted (plus additional for filling)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tbsp milk (for icing)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for icing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until mixed thoroughly.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- For the filling, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- In the greased loaf pan, layer half of the batter, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon filling, spread the remaining batter, and top with the rest of the filling. Gently swirl with a knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once done, let it cool before removing from the pan.
- For the icing, whisk the powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled bread.
Notes
To keep your cinnamon bread fresh, store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze individual slices.
