A quick, easy, and delicious dinner option that combines the flavors of classic chicken Parmesan in a simple, wholesome casserole.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups uncooked rotini pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1¼ cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup turkey ham or turkey pepperoni (optional, for added flavor)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grab a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour the uncooked rotini pasta into the baking dish.
  3. Scatter the cooked chicken over the pasta.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the marinara sauce with the water or broth, and stir in the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the pasta and chicken.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the top.
  7. Mix the breadcrumbs with the olive oil or melted butter, then sprinkle over the casserole.
  8. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until the pasta is tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For variations, consider using sautéed vegetables instead of chicken for a vegetarian dish or adding different kinds of cheese.
