Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into squares or rectangles using a sharp knife or pastry cutter.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the beignets in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
