  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Once done, drain it and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the onions are golden, add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Pour in the broth, and add thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir well to coat in the onion-broth mix.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, sprinkle Gruyère cheese on top, and broil for 3-5 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
