- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, until caramelized (about 15-20 minutes).
- Pour in the broth and let simmer for about 5 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the heavy cream, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, mixing until well combined.
- Transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle with Gruyere cheese, and broil until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh thyme before serving.
Notes
