- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add melted butter and mix until well combined.
- Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until evenly blended.
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently.
- Add flour and stir just until it disappears—avoid overmixing!
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or honey. For added flavor, mix in nuts or chocolate chips.
