- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: fruit preserves or fresh fruit for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface; cut it into rectangles.
- Mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
- Create a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry rectangle.
- Fold the edges over the filling and seal them or form a pinwheel shape.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg to achieve that golden finish.
- Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they’re golden brown and puffed.
- Optionally, add a drizzle of fruit preserves or top with fresh fruit before serving.
Notes
For best results, enjoy your Danish fresh out of the oven. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days, or freeze them before baking.
