Description

A comforting and versatile homemade stuffing perfect for festive gatherings and cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread, cubed (stale bread works great!)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and celery; sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Toss to combine.
  5. Pour in the broth gradually, mixing until the bread is moist but not soggy.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

You can make this stuffing ahead of time and refrigerate before baking. This recipe can also be made gluten-free by using gluten-free bread.
