  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add granulated sugar, whisking continuously until stiff peaks appear. Stir in vanilla, cornstarch, and vinegar until well combined.
  3. Spread the meringue onto the lined baking sheet in a circular shape, making a well in the center for toppings.
  4. Bake for 1 hour. Turn off the oven and allow the pavlova to cool completely inside.
  5. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until apples are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  7. Once the pavlova is cool, transfer it to a serving plate. Fill the center with whipped cream and top with caramelized apples. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding nuts or a berry compote. Best served fresh. Store meringue separately from toppings.
