Description
A flavorful and easy-to-make ribeye steak seared to perfection with garlic butter and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 Ribeye Steaks (about 1–1.5 inches thick)
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2–3 sprigs Fresh Thyme
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- Kosher Salt (to taste)
- Freshly ground Black Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Take the steaks out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.
- Sprinkle both sides of the steaks with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and allow it to shimmer.
- Add the ribeye steaks to the pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes without moving them.
- Reduce heat to medium, add the unsalted butter, minced garlic, and thyme to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks.
- Cook for another 4-5 minutes, basting with the garlic butter, until reaching desired doneness (135°F for medium-rare).
- Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
- Slice against the grain, drizzle with the buttery garlic sauce, and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
Letting the steak rest is crucial for juicy and tender bites. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
