Garlic Butter-Seared Ribeye Steak

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x
  • Diet: None

Description

A flavorful and easy-to-make ribeye steak seared to perfection with garlic butter and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Ribeye Steaks (about 11.5 inches thick)
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 23 sprigs Fresh Thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Kosher Salt (to taste)
  • Freshly ground Black Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Take the steaks out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.
  2. Sprinkle both sides of the steaks with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and allow it to shimmer.
  4. Add the ribeye steaks to the pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes without moving them.
  5. Reduce heat to medium, add the unsalted butter, minced garlic, and thyme to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks.
  6. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, basting with the garlic butter, until reaching desired doneness (135°F for medium-rare).
  7. Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
  8. Slice against the grain, drizzle with the buttery garlic sauce, and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Letting the steak rest is crucial for juicy and tender bites. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
