Description

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces dried pasta noodles (spaghetti, fettuccine, or any favorite)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
  2. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 3/4 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
  3. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic and sauté gently, stirring frequently, until fragrant.
  5. Toss the drained pasta into the skillet, coating it thoroughly with the garlic butter using tongs.
  6. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts and coats the noodles.
  7. Add a few spoonfuls of the reserved pasta water along with the remaining tablespoon of butter and toss well.
  8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, toss again, and serve immediately topped with additional Parmesan and chopped parsley, if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute Parmesan with a vegan cheese alternative.
