Description
A light, airy bread infused with garlic and topped with Parmesan cheese, perfect for any meal or gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for greasing)
- 1 ¾ cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil for topping
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
- Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
- Fresh parsley or herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and instant yeast until well combined.
- Stir in the olive oil and warm water. Mix until you form a sticky dough. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
- Set the dough aside in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Generously grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or sheet pan with olive oil.
- Transfer the dough to the pan, gently stretching it to fit the edges. Allow it to rest for another 30 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over low heat. Add the minced garlic and a pinch of salt. Cook until fragrant, being careful not to brown the garlic. Remove from heat.
- Create deep dimples all over the dough. Drizzle the garlic oil evenly on top, then sprinkle with Parmesan, fresh herbs, and flaky sea salt.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
