Description
A quick and satisfying appetizer combining smoky kielbasa with sweet pineapple, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 14 oz. regular beef Kielbasa, sliced into ½ to ¾ inch thick chunks
- 20 oz. can pineapple chunks, drained (reserve 1 Tbsp juice)
- 3 Tbsp Teriyaki sauce
- 1 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp pineapple juice (reserved from the can)
- Plain toothpicks for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Drain the pineapple chunks, ensuring to reserve 1 tablespoon of the juice. Slice the kielbasa into bite-sized chunks.
- Create the Glaze: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, sweet chili sauce, honey, and the reserved pineapple juice until smooth.
- Sear the Kielbasa: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove the kielbasa from the skillet and drain any excess fat.
- Glaze and Simmer: In the same skillet, add the drained pineapple chunks and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Pour the glaze over the kielbasa and pineapple, stirring to coat evenly. Let it simmer for 3-5 minutes until the glaze thickens.
- Assemble and Serve: Using toothpicks, skewer one piece of kielbasa and one chunk of pineapple. Arrange them on a platter and serve warm.
Notes
Sear the kielbasa well for better flavor. You can substitute kielbasa with turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
