Description

  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • ½ cup Half-and-half
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ cup Fresh Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Onion: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Brown the Turkey: Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook, breaking apart the meat until browned, about 7-8 minutes.
  4. Mix in Garlic and Flour: Stir in the minced garlic and flour, cooking for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in Broth and Sauce: Gradually add the chicken broth and tomato sauce, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Add Cream and Cheese: Pour in the half-and-half and stir in the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses until melted and creamy.
  7. Combine with Pasta: Fold the cooked pasta into the creamy turkey mixture until well coated.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with fresh parsley and red chili flakes if desired. Enjoy!
