- 8 ounces Penne Pasta
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 medium Yellow Onion
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- 1 cup Tomato Sauce
- ½ cup Half-and-half
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
- ¼ cup Fresh Parsley
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Onion: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Brown the Turkey: Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook, breaking apart the meat until browned, about 7-8 minutes.
- Mix in Garlic and Flour: Stir in the minced garlic and flour, cooking for an additional minute.
- Pour in Broth and Sauce: Gradually add the chicken broth and tomato sauce, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.
- Add Cream and Cheese: Pour in the half-and-half and stir in the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses until melted and creamy.
- Combine with Pasta: Fold the cooked pasta into the creamy turkey mixture until well coated.
- Garnish and Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with fresh parsley and red chili flakes if desired. Enjoy!
