- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional, highly recommended!)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- Mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then blend well.
- Combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.
- If using, fold in chocolate chips at this stage.
- Drop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each mound.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the center remains fudgy.
- Allow cooling on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or drizzled with melted chocolate for extra indulgence. Can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
