  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A modern twist on the classic green bean casserole featuring fresh ingredients and a crispy onion topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans (trimmed)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for about 5 minutes, until they’re bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  4. In a greased baking dish, combine the green beans and the soup mixture.
  5. Top with crispy fried onions.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
  7. Serve warm for the best experience!

Notes

Blanching enhances the green beans’ color and helps retain their crunch. Customize toppings as desired.
