Description
A modern twist on the classic green bean casserole featuring fresh ingredients and a crispy onion topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans (trimmed)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup crispy fried onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch the green beans in boiling water for about 5 minutes, until they’re bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- In a greased baking dish, combine the green beans and the soup mixture.
- Top with crispy fried onions.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
- Serve warm for the best experience!
Notes
Blanching enhances the green beans’ color and helps retain their crunch. Customize toppings as desired.
