  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A classic Thanksgiving stuffing filled with savory herbs and cubed bread, perfect for complementing turkey and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 cups sourdough or French bread, cubed
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups celery, finely chopped (about 34 stalks)
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 4 cups low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and chopped celery; cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the fresh herbs and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Pour the sautéed mixture over the bread cubes and drizzle in the broth. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and moistened.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy on top.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding cooked sausage, dried fruits, or nuts to personalize your stuffing.
