- 10 cups sourdough or French bread, cubed
- 1 large onion, finely diced
- 2 cups celery, finely chopped (about 3–4 stalks)
- 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 4 cups low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and chopped celery; cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the fresh herbs and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour the sautéed mixture over the bread cubes and drizzle in the broth. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and moistened.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy on top.
Notes
For a twist, consider adding cooked sausage, dried fruits, or nuts to personalize your stuffing.
