Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk, mixing well.
  4. Add the green beans to the soup mixture and stir until well coated.
  5. Fold in 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese and half of the French fried onions.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  7. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and French fried onions.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and the top is golden brown.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, add a pinch of garlic or onion powder to the soup mixture. Avoid overcooking the green beans while blanching to keep them slightly crisp.
