- 4 cups green beans, trimmed
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup fried onions
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the green beans, cooked bacon, mushrooms, and half of the cheddar cheese.
- Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and fried onions on top.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the onions are golden. Serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter version, use low-fat milk or swap the cheddar cheese for a dairy-free alternative. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to four days or freeze for longer storage.
