  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Pescatarian

Description

A comforting side dish that combines green beans, crispy bacon, and cheesy goodness, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Stir in the green beans, cooked bacon, mushrooms, and half of the cheddar cheese.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and fried onions on top.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the onions are golden. Serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, use low-fat milk or swap the cheddar cheese for a dairy-free alternative. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to four days or freeze for longer storage.
