Description

  • 810 slices of soft white sandwich bread (crusts removed)
  • 810 slices of melting cheese (e.g., Sharp Cheddar, American, Monterey Jack, Colby Jack, Provolone)
  • 45 tablespoons of unsalted butter (softened or melted)
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, paprika, dried Italian herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Flatten the crustless bread slices with a rolling pin to about 1/16 to 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Place a slice of cheese along one edge of the flattened bread, leaving a 1/4 inch border.
  4. Optionally, sprinkle seasonings on the cheese.
  5. Spread a thin layer of softened butter over each roll-up.
  6. Carefully place the roll-ups seam-side down in the skillet without overcrowding.
  7. Cook for 2-4 minutes until golden brown, then turn and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on each side until crispy and the cheese is melted.
  8. Serve immediately for the best experience.
