Description

A warm, hearty casserole featuring layers of tender potatoes, seasoned ground beef, creamy mushroom sauce, and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the garlic powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the cooked beef mixture, and then half of the cream of mushroom soup.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra creaminess, you can add a spoonful of milk to the soup before layering. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes after baking for cleaner slices.
