Description

Delicious and hearty Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks made with well-seasoned beef, melty cheese, sautéed onions, and peppers in soft hoagie rolls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or any cheese of your preference)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Drizzle olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing for about 3-5 minutes until tender. If using mushrooms, add them and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  3. Push the vegetables to the side and add ground beef, cooking until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, mixing for about 2 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture, cover with a lid, and let it melt for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  7. Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture generously into each roll.
  8. Serve hot, optionally toasting the rolls for extra texture.

Notes

Feel free to swap ground beef with turkey or plant-based meat. Use good quality cheese for the best flavor!
