Description

A hearty skillet classic combining ground turkey and potatoes for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic for another minute until fragrant.
  2. Crumble ground turkey into the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Cook for 7 to 10 minutes until golden-brown. Sprinkle in cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, mixing well.
  3. Stir in diced potatoes, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender.
  4. Add frozen peas to the skillet, gently stirring them in. Cook for another 5 minutes until peas are warmed through.
  5. Garnish with chopped cilantro right before serving.

Notes

Serve warm in bowls with crusty bread or over rice. Consider adding lemon juice for extra zing. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer.
