Hawaiian Roll French Toast

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A delightful twist on classic French toast, made with sweet Hawaiian rolls for a caramelized, indulgent breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (whole, almond, or oat)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Butter for frying
  • Powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well blended.
  3. Dip each half of the rolls into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak briefly.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a pat of butter to melt and coat the pan.
  5. Place the soaked rolls in the skillet, cooking until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from skillet and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Use day-old Hawaiian rolls for best texture. You can prepare the egg mixture ahead of time and soak the rolls a few hours in advance.
