- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or basil)
- Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast. Mix well.
- Gradually add in the warm water and olive oil while mixing until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a baking sheet. Flatten it gently with your fingers to create dimples all over.
- Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and add a touch of sea salt on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the focaccia is golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Store leftover focaccia in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
