Description

A heartwarming casserole combining ground beef, sliced potatoes, and creamy mushroom soup, topped with cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar works great!)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef alongside the chopped onion over medium heat. Drain excess fat after browning.
  3. Grease your casserole dish and layer it with the sliced potatoes.
  4. Spread the browned beef mixture over the potatoes, followed by the cream of mushroom soup. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Top with a generous layer of shredded cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for about three months.
