  • Total Time: 80 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: None

Description

A comforting casserole with layers of tender potatoes, savory ground beef, and a creamy sauce, topped with bubbling cheese. Perfect for family gatherings and busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or preferred variety)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a generously sized baking dish, create a layer of sliced potatoes.
  4. Add the cooked ground beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup evenly over the layers.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the entire casserole.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, consider including garlic or herbs. You can substitute ground beef with turkey for a leaner option and play around with cheese types.
