Description

A hearty, layered dish featuring ground beef, tender potatoes, and creamy mushroom soup, topped with melted cheese—perfect for chilly evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is fully cooked, draining any excess fat.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom.
  4. Spread the cooked beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for approximately 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat to 165°F (74°C).
