- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil (plus more for drizzling)
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- Fresh rosemary (to taste)
- Coarse sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine bread flour, instant yeast, and salt.
- Gradually mix in the warm water and olive oil until a moist dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for approximately 1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) during the last few minutes of the dough rising.
- Lightly oil a baking sheet and spread the dough onto it, using your fingers to create dimples.
- Drizzle additional olive oil over the surface and sprinkle with fresh rosemary and coarse sea salt.
- Allow the dough to rest for another 30 minutes before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Once baked, let it cool slightly before slicing and serving it warm.
Notes
Store leftover focaccia in an airtight container at room temperature. It can also be frozen for up to three months. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
