A warm and hearty homemade version of Hamburger Helper that’s quick to prepare and packed with flavor, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the browned meat.
  4. Add the beef broth and tomato sauce, then bring everything to a simmer.
  5. Stir in the elbow macaroni and cover the skillet. Cook for 10-12 minutes until the pasta is tender.
  6. Remove from heat. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts and combines beautifully.
  7. Serve it warm and enjoy your delicious homemade Hamburger Helper!

Notes

For a creamier texture, add a splash of beef broth when reheating. Feel free to customize with different cheeses or add vegetables.
