Description
A delightful dish of tender chicken enveloped in a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces Chicken thighs or breasts (preferably thighs for juiciness)
- 1/2 cup Honey (adjust to your sweetness preference)
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced; fresh is always recommended)
- 1/4 cup Soy sauce (tamari makes it gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil (for cooking the chicken)
- 1 teaspoon Ginger (optional, but adds a delightful flavor)
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch (optional, for thickening the sauce)
- 1 teaspoon Salt (for seasoning)
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper (for seasoning)
- 2 tablespoons Green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and optional ginger. Set aside a small amount for glazing later if desired.
- Marinate the chicken in the mixture for at least 30 minutes—longer for more intense flavor.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and cook until browned, about 6-7 minutes per side.
- If using cornstarch, mix it with a little water, then add to the reserved marinade and bring it to a boil in the skillet. Stir until thickened.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and simmer for a few more minutes to absorb flavors.
- Garnish with green onions before serving.
