Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce, warmed (for drizzling)
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture while alternating with buttermilk.
  6. Gently fold in the hot fudge sauce and chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then drizzle with warm hot fudge sauce and sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts if desired.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, try using coconut flour. Experiment with Greek yogurt as a buttermilk substitute.
