- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce, warmed (for drizzling)
- ¼ cup chocolate chips (for topping)
- 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture while alternating with buttermilk.
- Gently fold in the hot fudge sauce and chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then drizzle with warm hot fudge sauce and sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, try using coconut flour. Experiment with Greek yogurt as a buttermilk substitute.
