Ingredients
- Steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Olive oil or butter
- Garlic (optional, for extra flavor)
- Fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over high heat, then add a drizzle of olive oil or a pat of butter.
- Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side until a beautifully browned crust forms.
- If using garlic or herbs, toss them into the skillet at this stage for added aroma.
- Transfer the skillet to your preheated oven and cook for an additional 6-10 minutes, depending on your desired doneness.
- Once finished, remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve with garlic mashed potatoes or roasted asparagus for a classic meal. Store leftovers tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
