Homemade Chai Tea Latte Mix

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A budget-friendly and customizable chai tea latte mix that brings the cozy café experience to your home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons Black tea leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon Cloves
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • Brown sugar to taste (can substitute with coconut sugar or omit)

Instructions

  1. In a dry skillet, toast the spices—cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and ginger—over medium heat until aromatic, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Allow the spices to cool, then combine them with the black tea leaves and nutmeg in a blender or food processor.
  3. Blend until you reach a fine powder consistency.
  4. Stir in your desired amount of brown sugar until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and store in a cool, dark place.

Notes

For a creamier drink, use steamed milk instead of hot milk and add whipped cream on top. You can also try adding vanilla extract, matcha powder, or increasing the amount of ginger for a spicy kick.
