- 1 lb Sweet Maple Sausage
- 8 large Eggs
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 8 cups Day-Old Bread, cubed
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1/2 cup Maple Syrup
- 1/2 cup Fresh Blueberries
- 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- Whipped Cream, for serving (optional)
- Additional Maple Syrup, for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the sweet maple sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the day-old bread cubes and let them soak for about 10 minutes.
- Fold in the cooked sausage, shredded cheese, blueberries, and pecans.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with fresh fruit salad or crispy bacon. Drizzle with extra maple syrup or add whipped cream for a treat.
