- 2 pounds stew meat
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons corn starch (optional for thickening)
- Mashed potatoes for serving
Instructions
- Set your Instant Pot to sauté mode and drizzle in the olive oil.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; cook until softened, stirring occasionally.
- Toss in the stew meat and brown it on all sides for added flavor.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 35 minutes.
- Allow for a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then release any remaining pressure.
- For a thicker gravy, mix corn starch with a little water and stir it into the pot. Use sauté mode to thicken.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes.
Notes
For a spicier version, add cayenne or hot sauce. Fresh herbs can enhance the flavor remarkably.
