Description

A quick and easy dessert made with Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg, perfectly cooked in the Instant Pot for a warm, comforting dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples, cut them in half, and remove the seeds and core.
  2. Slice the apples into 1/2-inch pieces and place them in a large bowl. Sprinkle with lemon juice and toss to combine.
  3. Transfer the sliced apples to the Instant Pot.
  4. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup. Toss to ensure apples are evenly coated.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the water and cornstarch until smooth. Pour this mixture into the Instant Pot and stir well.
  6. Secure the lid, lock it, and make sure the valve is sealed.
  7. Press the manual button and set the time to Pressure Cook for one minute.
  8. After the cooking time is complete, perform a Quick Release.
  9. Once the valve drops, open the Instant Pot, gently stir the apples, and serve.

Notes

For a healthier version, adjust the sugar to taste. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for indulgence.
