Description
Delightful twist on classic cinnamon rolls, these bliss bars feature fluffy layers and rich cream cheese frosting, perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 1½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well until combined.
- Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually incorporate these dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Combine the packed brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir in the melted butter until well mixed. Drop spoonfuls of this cinnamon-sugar mixture over the base batter.
- Top with the remaining batter and use a knife to swirl the cinnamon mix into the batter for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack.
- Beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Gradually add milk until you achieve a spreadable frosting consistency.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled bars, cut into squares, and serve.
Notes
To enjoy these bars, serve warm with a drizzle of extra frosting or dust with powdered sugar. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or fresh fruit.
