Description
Indulgent and satisfying, grilled cheese burritos combine the classic flavors of grilled cheese sandwiches and hearty burritos, all in one delicious package.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Ground Beef (substitute with turkey or plant-based options)
- 1 packet Taco Seasoning (homemade for a healthier twist)
- 2 cups Cooked White Rice (or brown rice/quinoa)
- 1 cup Sour Cream (yogurt or dairy-free alternatives work well)
- 1 cup Nacho Cheese Sauce (opt for homemade or vegan cheese)
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (a mix of mozzarella or Mexican blend can enhance flavor)
- 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (optional or use lower-fat options)
- 1 tablespoon Chipotle Sauce (adjusted for spice preference)
- 4 large Flour Tortillas (whole wheat or gluten-free can be used too)
- 2 tablespoons Butter or Oil (swap in olive oil or non-stick spray)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Season: Add taco seasoning and cooked rice to the skillet. Stir until well mixed and heated through.
- Build the Filling: In a bowl, combine the sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, cheddar, mozzarella, and chipotle sauce. Mix until creamy.
- Assemble the Burrito: Lay a tortilla flat, spoon in the filling, and roll it up tightly.
- Grill: Heat butter or oil in a clean skillet over medium heat. Grill each burrito until golden on both sides, about 3-4 minutes each.
Notes
These burritos can be served with guacamole, crispy tortilla chips, or a side salad. For leftovers, wrap tightly and refrigerate for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
