Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix them well.
  2. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and finely chopped jalapeños.
  6. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Allow the bread to cool before slicing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container or wrap in plastic wrap at room temperature for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for longer storage.
