Description
A quick and nutritious one-pan dish featuring ground beef, broccoli, and creamy cheese, perfect for a low-carb lifestyle.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 6-8 minutes until browned.
- Push the beef to one side of the skillet. In the empty space, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 3 minutes until the onion turns translucent.
- Toss in the broccoli florets, mixing them in with the beef for about a minute.
- Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir thoroughly to coat.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, checking halfway to stir gently.
- Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar on top. Cover again for 2-3 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.
- If using, drizzle Worcestershire sauce and sprinkle red pepper flakes over the melted cheese. Stir gently to mix.
- Serve hot right from the skillet.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken. For dairy-free, use nutritional yeast instead of cheese.
