Description
A low-carb twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, these roll-ups are bursting with flavor and are easy to prepare, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Almond flour or keto-friendly wraps (optional)
Instructions
- Sauté the veggies: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking until they’re soft and aromatic.
- Brown the meat: Next, add your ground meat to the skillet. Cook thoroughly until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Melt the cheese: After the meat is cooked, lower the heat and sprinkle in the shredded Monterey Jack cheese. Stir until it melts into a gooey, delicious mixture.
- Assemble the roll ups: If you’re using almond flour or keto wraps, lay them out. Spoon the meat and cheese mixture onto the center of each wrap.
- Roll and bake: Tightly roll up each wrap, placing them seam side down in a baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes, just until heated through.
- Serve and savor: Once out of the oven, serve warm and enjoy the melty, savory goodness!
Notes
Pair with a fresh side salad or roasted veggies for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to four days or frozen for up to three months.
