  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Beef

Description

A delightful Korean dish combining savory ground beef with a sweet and tangy sauce, served over fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 3 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or jasmine)
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  4. Serve the beef mixture over the cooked rice and top with sliced green onions.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute with lean meat or ground turkey. Adjust spice level to taste by modifying red pepper flakes.
