- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooked rice (for serving)
- Chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat over medium heat, add the ground beef, and cook until browned. Break it up as it cooks.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the soy sauce, sprinkle in the brown sugar, and drizzle the sesame oil. Add red pepper flakes if using.
- Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
Notes
For additional toppings, consider pickled vegetables, steamed broccoli, or a fried egg on top. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
