Description

A quick and flavorful Korean dish featuring ground beef, garlic, and soy sauce served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium heat, add the ground beef, and cook until browned. Break it up as it cooks.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, sprinkle in the brown sugar, and drizzle the sesame oil. Add red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For additional toppings, consider pickled vegetables, steamed broccoli, or a fried egg on top. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
