Description

A delightful lasagna featuring layers of rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and sausage until browned. Drain any excess fat, then add the tomato sauce and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  5. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, start layering: spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of noodles, then a layer of the ricotta mixture. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Repeat these layers until you finish with a layer of meat sauce and mozzarella on top.
  6. Top the assembled lasagna with grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Once out of the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, let the lasagna sit for about 10 minutes after baking. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge before baking.
